The Voice Australia winner Bella Taylor Smith has revealed the shock and delight she felt when she received her $100,000 prize money.

The church singer, 23, was shopping at a budget pharmacy when she checked her banking app and saw the cash had been transferred to her account.

‘I was actually at Priceline and I went to go and transfer myself money to buy something and it had hit my account and I was like [nuts],’ she said on The Morning Show on Wednesday.

The woman at the counter even asked if she was ‘okay’ because she suddenly started smiling.

‘Maybe I’ll buy some more hair dye,’ Bella joked.       

Bella revealed on Sunrise last month she plans to be sensible with her prize money.

‘I’ll pay some bills!’ she chuckled. ‘Hopefully plan a holiday when everything is back up… just get my life, kind of together and in order a little bit.

‘It’s going to be huge for me, that part of it.’

Bella was stunned when she was announced as the winner of The Voice in September, beating out finalists Arlo Sim, Mick Harrington and girl group G-Nat!on.

‘I really can’t believe it, I’m so thankful,’ she said on stage.  

‘I can’t wait to see what incredible things are ahead for me. I’m really grateful for you [coach Guy Sebastian], for everyone who voted and for my beautiful family.’

Guy was particularly moved, saying: ‘I’m so proud. There are so many deserving people up there, but you are special Bella, go out there and kill it, I know you will.’

Following the announcement, Bella, who hails from Sydney, commanded attention as she performed her new single Higher for the judges and viewers at home.   

The performance was just as stellar as her earlier rendition of Never Enough from the Hugh Jackman-led film The Greatest Showman.

All four coaches were blown away, with country music star Keith Urban remarking: ‘If you’re not a believer at this point you’ve  got to check your pulse.’
